About Me

Hi, my name is Jim Harman, owner of Fine Designer Cabochons located in Rogue River, Oregon. I started cutting cabs in 1972. After about 3 years of cutting, it was time to learn how to make jewelry. Since then I have owned a number of jewelry businesses, always a one man show. As usual, the bench work and repairs paid the bills. Custom designs were the fun part.

In the 1980's I attended a number of workshops at the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts, San Francisco. Watching the experts do it was like magic. Great instructors, and a great learning experience.

My last adventure in working metal was a silver mounted western show saddle, located at www.SaddleSilver.com. The saddle is still for sale and I am open to offers.

My current adventure and passion is cutting cabochons.

I have been a seller on E-Bay since February of 2000, with a 99.6% feedback rating. My user ID is "finerock". Buy with confidence.

About my Cabochons

Unless noted, all stones were cut by me, and polished on the back. The descriptions of my stones are accurate. Pits, porosity and flaws will be indicated. As a jeweler I cut my stones with the jeweler in mind. All stones are well cut and easy to set. Bezel, prong, or wire wrap. All stones have a slight radius where the shoulder meets the back.
